"A Man Without Love", is a little treasure I found thanks to Amazon.com. It is copyrighted 1968, and now over 30 years later my new find is what I consider a classic. "From Here to Eternity" is now my all-time favorite song of Engelbert's. It is absolutely beautiful, and everytime I see him in concert, I always hope that he'd perform it. (So far no luck!!!). This is a must-have for all fans of E.H.
This pre-George Michael version of linguistically wooing the female persuasion was paramount in the classic sense in the 1970's. "A Man Without Love" is a great record, originally published on Parrot/London Records (go fig), and relentlessly spins wonderful vintage covers like "Quando, Quando, Quando" and the over-played "What a Wonderful World." Beyond the sexy voice there is the sexy bow-tie that seemed to be of the hallmarks of this performer's stage repertoire. I say '5 stars' for Humperdinck, in that he classifies swankiness with a Lawrence Welk pop that is unattainable today. So, look out ladies of the 1970's, Engelbert is here to romantically rock your world (in cd format this time)! Engelbert says 'si...si, senorita!'
