REVIEWS
This is his first album with that initial gold single -- "Release Me." The CD has 12 tracks including "There's a Kind of Hush," "This is My Song," "MIsty Blue," and "Ten Guitars." This is early Humperdinck, but all the feeling is there. If you can find a copy of this, it is fun to have. Some of these songs appear on the compilations, not always in the original versions.
I have collected many Engelbert Hunperdinck CDs over the years. But this CD is my all-time favorite. His voice is incredible. He sings every song with ease. And the music arrangement is superb. Want a romantic evening, put on this CD.

"Ah, The Song ~ and the beginning of ' A Love Affair That Has No End '. Thankfully, I have almost every one of the pictured albums, be they lp, 8-track or CD, and in many cases, all three recordings. Still searching for certain ones that have not been recorded on CD's, and plan to take my LP's and have them put on CD's, if I cannot locate them. Each album holds different memories, special favorites, and songs by Enge that should have gone Gold. Certain songs such as 'Love Is All' ~ 'Till You And Your Lover are Lover's Again' ~ 'This Is What You Mean To Me' ~ 'Yours ' ~ ( in both English and Spanish ) ~ when I play these, there is a flashback of such marvelous memories, that it still amazes me how the mind can capture every detail. I doubt if there is a song that Engelbert has sung, that can't stir a memory or two, and once he sings his version, they become 'his' song ~ as he has a way of making the words take on a life, one can see the story played out, and if you have ever seen Enge sing ' Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman ' ~ well then, you know what I mean. So, " Release Me " .....no Enge, never!

"Something to be aware of is the differences between the Decca versions of EH's LPs/CDs and the American counterparts on Parrot. I have the original LP from '67 of "Release Me", and you'll note the CD available is of the Decca release which does NOT include "There Goes My Everything." In fact, the LP pic on this website is the American 12 song Parrot disc, and the listed songs are of the Decca release.
Gotta love marketing! But it's all good Humperdinck so what the heck!!
