We Made It Happen/Sweetheart

"No other artist can match the sheer heaven of Enge's vocals. He is simply divine, a master of his craft."

"These two gorgeous albums - reissued on one CD - show off Engelbert's extraordinary talents as THE balladeer of and for our time. Now-legendary songwriters contributed to both albums: Paul Anka with "We Made It Happen"; and, the Gibb Brothers with "Sweetheart".
In all of the Engelbert canon, there is, arguably, no better demonstration of vocal technique than may be found in the original version of "Love Me With All Of Your Heart" (new recordings of the song have been featured on two recent albums: the live CD, "Totally Amazing"; and in the double-CD, "Legacy of Love".
Kris Kristofferson's "For The Good Times" is beautifully executed here, and is just one of the songs this reviewer would love to see revived in Engelbert's live performances.
Many of the songs on this re-issue have been re-released in a number of recent compilations, but the one rarity that more than compensates for the entire collection here is Engelbert's superb version of Ewan MacColl's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face". A soaring arrangement allows Engelbert to craft a very fine counterpoint to Roberta Flack's famous (but quite different) interpretation of the song from the same time-period. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! "

"I have all three of these double albums. I do believe I received an e-mail about them, and ordered them immediately. Have had no problems. So many of my favorites on here, especially my all time favorite, "Love Me With All Of Your Heart". So many of them, including the two title songs ~ We Made It Happen and Sweetheart. Then that always fun song ~My Wife The Dancer, For The Good Times and who could not love When There's No You? Just that thought could make me so sad. Love them all as a matter of fact. It might be easier to name the few I don't care for. Now let me think......None, not a one ........With Smiles of Love, from Dorothy "
